We have built houses for The Habitat For Humanity Global Village Program in Romania, Zambia, Camodia and Malawi.  Our next Build will be in Myanmar in May 2018.

Our goal is to participate in 1-2 Habitat For Humanity Builds per year.  Although we do not know when our next build will be (after Myanmar), we have set up this fundraising page to support our future builds.

April 9, 2018 is quickly approaching.  We are checking items off our to-do list almost as fast as we add new items to the list.  Such is the nature of pre-trip preparations.

This is harder than we thought because fitting one’s life and one’s needs into a overhead bin ready backpack for the next 3 months (only our first leg) comes with trade-offs.  Leaving comforts behind in lieu of the necessities might be an easy intellectual decision but it’s a difficult task.  It’s all about practicality.  Function over form.  Utility over fashion.  Flexibility over desire.

Shoes are the hardest part.  There is no room in our backpacks for evening wear or fashion forward.  Our shoe choices have to work for everyday walking, so comfort is a priority.  Some restaurants and museums will have to excuse our walking sandals as proper attire.
